TOP EDM FESTIVALS IN ROMANIA

1.      UNTOLD

Untold Festival is an EDM music festival which takes at Cluj-Napoca’s Central Park in Romania, and is now one of the largest dance music festivals in Europe, seeing over 300,000 people attend annually. The lineup includes Armin van

Buuren, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas&Like Mike, Steve Aoki, 3

Are Legend, Tinie Tempah, Busta Rhymes, Tove Lo and many others. This year the festival took

place on 1-4 August, in Cluj-Napoca.

2.      NEVERSEA

Neversea Festival is an EDM, electronic, and pop music festival which takes place in the sun-soaked coastal city of Constanța, Romania. Neversea is now in it’s third year having built it’s reputation for supreme lineups, and even more impressive stage production. The lineup includes Afrojack, Jessie J, Sean Paul, Steve Aoki, Lost Frecquencies, G-Easy, Alesso, DJ Snake. This year the festival took place on 4-7 July, in Constanta.

3.      ELECTRIC CASTLE

Electric Castle is an electronic, indie, pop, and rock music festival set amongst the grounds of the historic Bánffy Castle, in Romania. Priding themselves on their eclectic lineups year on year, and considering the mystical Bánffy Castle is situated in Transylvania, they seldom host acts with spooky band names. With the exception of The Horrors in 2018. The lineup includes Florence+ the Machine, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Limp Bizkit, Metric, Bring Me the Horizon. This year the festival took place on 17-22 July, in Bontida.

4.      AWAKE

Awake Festival is an electronic, pop and alternative music festival held in the grounds of a spectacular Transylvanian castle. Set amongst picturesque woodland on the banks of the Mureș river, the Romanian festival is an immersive, four day summer escape. Music, arts and entertainment come together as a melting pot of cultures and experiences. The lineup includes Lady Leshurr,Enter, Shikari, Netsky, Pussy Riot, Triggerfinger, De Staat, AJ Tracey,  Dirtyphonics, Blahalouisiana, Moonlight Breakfast, Mörk, The Mono Jacks. This year the festival took place on 15-18 August, in Gornesti.

5.      SUMMER WELL

Summer Well Festival is an indie, pop, and rock music festival that takes place just outside the Romanian capital Bucharest. Despite its rapidly growing reputation, it continues to champion its unique, boutique festival vibe; throughout the winding woodland, the tranquil locale is jam-packed with numerous stages, installations, and impeccable gastronomy. The lineup includes The National, The 1975, Jungle, Maribou State, IAMDDB, David August. This year the festival took place on 10-11 August, in Buftea.

6.      DAKINI

Dakini returns to the gorgeous beaches of Tuzla on Romania’s Black Sea Coast for its third outing this coming June.The tranquility of the locale reflects the ethics of the festival, nurturing the expansion of the mind and spirit with five days of music, dance, meditation, and relaxation for festival-goers to embrace. The lineup includes Avalon, Captain Hook, Ajja, Sonic Species, Regan. This year the festival took place on 27 June – 1 July, in Constanta.

7.      DAVA

Dava Festival is a techno festival held in the medieval citadel of Sighisoara, Romania. Merging modern festival ideals within the uniquely traditional setting, an electronic-focused roster of artists create a lively and alluring atmosphere amongst the aesthetically pleasing locale within the historic heartland of Transylvania. The lineup includes Nick Warren, Fatima Hajji, Mahony, Nusha, Spektre. This year the festival took place on 30-31 August, in Sighisoara.

8.      AFTERHILLS

AFTERHILLS is a Romanian music and visual arts festival, where over 75,000 people gather every year to party, enjoy some amazing food and embrace new experiences. The lineup includes Don Diblo, Rita Ora, Quintino, R3HAB, Sam Feldt. This year the festival took place on 23-25 August and 30 August – 1 September, in Iasi.

9.      WAHA

Waha Festival 2019 is a music & dance, arts & spectacles, alternative living festival in  Romania. Waha means celebration, manifestation, vibration, dancing, cooperation, sharing, harmony & love. Waha sounds joyful, tribal and resonant. Waha aims to be more than a party, but an expression of existence. A space where you can be who you really are, expand your consciousness and join the others in learning, working together and helping each other to raise our level of awareness. In the process of evolution we transform ourselves, we change the way we feel, think, see and act. The lineup includes Minilogue, Petre Inspirescu, Ondrej and more. This year the festival took place on 11-15 July, in Batanii Mari.

10.  SUNSET

Sunset Festival is a music festival in Vama Veche. Three nights will mingle with the days, under the touch of sun rays and the whisper of the wind, guided by energizing tunes. The lineup includes Black Sun Empire, Radu Mirica, Dope D.O.D, and many more. This year the festival took place on 8th August, in Vama Veche.
